Design Notes
There were no modifications of the original genomic sequence. When using the codon optimization tool from Gene Designer 2.0, there were no alterations required. Our inspiration for this project stemmed from reading the literature about possible sources for possible endogenous pathways for the control of bacterial growth. Some papers described quorum sensing pathways, specifically Autoinducer-2, as having metabolic and growth control properties (See reference 1).
